- Tuesday thru Saturday 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
- Sundays 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
- CLOSED MONDAY
- Jennifer Hubbard will be Manager of the Pool this year. She may be reached at the Pool at 325-625-5712 for scheduling parties, etc.
Rates for parties will be $25.00 for the first hour for 15 people and then $2.00 per person thereafter, second hour will be $2.00 per person. Out of county party rates will be $50.00 for the first hour for 15 people and then $2.00 per person thereafter, second hour will be $2 per person. There is a $20.00 deposit required for reservation of all parties which must be paid in advance thru City Hall prior to the party.
- New Rates for swimming .
- 12 and under $3.00 per person
- 13 and over $4.00 per person.
- Adult Night will be Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a charge of $4.00 per person.
- There must be a minimum of 10 people for Adult Night.
- Family Night will be Thursday's from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a charge of $3.00 per person. (Adult must accompany children)
- THERE WILL BE NO ADULT NIGHT OR FAMILY NIGHT THE WEEKS OF JULY 6-30 AS THE LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM WILL BE IN PROGRESS.
- Jennifer Hubbard will be in charge of the Learn to Swim Program this year. Sign up day will be Saturday, June 26, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon at the City Pool.
Kids that do not know what level they are in will need to come in their swim suit for testing.
Cost $40.00 per swimmer.
Limit of 15 students per class.

PROCLAMATION
MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AND AWARENESS MONTH
WHEREAS, today's society is finding more citizens involved in motorcycling on the roads of our country; and
WHEREAS, motorcyclists are roughly unprotected and much more likely to be injured or killed in a crash than other vehicle drivers; and
WHEREAS, campaigns have helped inform riders and motorists alike on motorcycle safety issues to reduce motorcycle related risks, injuries, and most of all fatalities, through a comprehensive approach to motorcycle safety; and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of all who put themselves behind the wheel, to
become aware of motorcyclists, regarding them with the same respect as any other vehicle traveling the highways of this country; and
WHEREAS, urging all of our community to become aware of the inherent danger involved in operating a motorcycle and give the operator the respect on the road they deserve;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nick Poldrack, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF Coleman, TEXAS, do hereby proclaim the month of May 2010 as MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AND AWARENESS MONTH in Coleman, Texas.

WHEREAS, sexual assault affects women, children and men of all racial, cultural and economic backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the immediate physical and emotional cost, sexual assault may also have associated consequences of post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, depression, homelessness, eating disorders and suicide; and
WHEREAS, sexual assault can be devastating for not only the survivor, but also for the family and friends of the survivor; and
WHEREAS, no one person, organization, agency or community can eliminate sexual assault on their own, but we can work together to educate our entire population about what can be done to prevent sexual assault, support victim/survivors and their significant others, and increase support for agencies providing services to victim/survivors; and
WHEREAS, Sexual Assault Awareness Month provides an excellent opportunity for citizens to learn more about preventing sexual violence;
NOW, THEREFORE be it, Resolved, That I, NICK POLDRACK, do hereby proclaim the month of April 2010, as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in COLEMAN, TEXAS

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLEMAN ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY
8, 2010, FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING FOR OR AGAINST THE ADOPTION OF A ONE-HALF (1/2) OF ONE PERCENT SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN THE CITY OF COLEMAN FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 505 OF THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE AND THE ABOLITION OF THE ADDITIONAL SALES AND USE TAX FOR PROPERTY TAX REDUCTION PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED PURSUANT TO SECTION 321.101(b) OF THE TEXAS TAX CODE; MAKING PROVISION FOR THE CONDUCT OF SUCH ELECTION ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF LAW; PROVIDING FOR EXECUTION OF AN APPROPRIATE ELECTION NOTICE HEREAFTER; AND OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT TO AND RELATED TO THE PURPOSE HEREOF.

WHEREAS. The City Council of the City of Coleman deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Coleman to order a special election to be held on May 8, 2010, for the purpose of voting for or against the adoption of a one-half (1/2) of one percent sales and use tax within the City of Coleman for economic development pursuant to Chapter 505 of the Texas Local Government Code and and the repeal of the additional tax for property tax reduction previously adopted pursuant to Section 321.101(b) of the
Texas Tax Code; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLEMAN:
SECTION 1. THAT a Special Election be held on May 8, 2010, which date is the next succeeding uniform date available for municipal elections for which sufficient time elapses for the holding of an election after passage of this Ordinance. Said election shall be held or the purpose of voting for or against the adoption of a one-half (1/2) of one percent sales and use tax within the City of Coleman for economic development pursuant to Chapter 505 of the Texas Local Government Code and and the repeal of the additional tax for property tax reduction previously adopted pursuant to Section 321.101(b) of the Texas Tax Code.
SECTION 2. THAT ballots shall be prepared in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Election Code so that voters may cast ballots either for or against the measure, which shall appear on the ballot substantially as follows:

DEMOLITION OF EXISTING STRUCTURES, DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING, AND TARGETED INFRASTRUCTURE AND ANY OTHER IMPROVEMENTS, EXPENDITURES, OR FACILITIES THAT ARE RELATED TO ANY OF THE ABOVE PROJECTS; DEVELOPMENT OR IMPROVEMENT OF WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES, INCLUDING DAMS, TRANSMISSION LINES, WELL FIELD DEVELOPMENTS, AND OTHER WATER SUPPLY ALTERNATIVES

SECTION 3. THAT the election shall be held at the City Hall, 200 W. Live Oak, Coleman, Texas 76834, and all persons qualified to vote in the City of Coleman under the election laws of the State of Texas shall be allowed to vote therein. Said Special Election shall be held and the polling places shall be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
SECTION 4. THAT notice of the election shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Coleman by publication of a Notice of Election as required by Chapter 4 of the Texas Election Code at least once not earlier than the 30th day or later than the 10th day before the election day. In addition, notice of the election shall be posted as required by the Texas Election Code.
SECTION 5. THAT early voting shall commence on the 26th day of April, 2010 and shall conclude on the 4th day of May 2010, and be conducted at City Hall, 200 W. Live Oak, Coleman, Texas 76834 weekdays, other than City holidays, during the regular hours of business, which are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except that on the 3rd day of
May , 2010 and the 4th day of May , 2010 early voting will be held from
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
SECTION 6. THAT applications for voting by mail may be accepted beginning March 9, 2010, and concluding on April 30, 2010. Applications shall be available from the City Secretary who shall be the early voting clerk at City Hall, 200 W. Live Oak, Coleman, Texas 76834.

- NEW BUSINESS:
- Council will consider authorizing the election order for the City of Coleman Election to be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 for the purpose of electing the following: Councilmember Place 1 North Ward and Councilmember Place 4 South Ward and voting for or against the abolition of the additional sales and use tax within the City; and authorizing the Coleman City Council to adopt the Type "B" Economic Development Sales and Use tax at the rate of one-half (1/2) of one percent to undertake projects as described in Chapter 505 of the Texas Local Government Code, including but not limited to: Projects for the promotion of professional and amateur athletics and sports including stadiums, ball parks, auditoriums, projects related to entertainment, convention, tourist, and exhibition facilities, amphitheaters, concert halls, and public parks, park facilities and event, open space improvements, primary job training facilities for use by instructions of higher education, research and development facilities, regional or national corporate headquarters facilities, museums and related stores, restaurant, concession, and automotive parking facilities, related area transportation facilities and related roads, streets and water and sewer facilities, recycling facilities and projects to promote new or expanded business enterprises that create or retain primary jobs, and public safety facilities, streets and roads, drainage, and improvements, demolition of existing structures, development and expansion of affordable housing, and targeted infrastructure and any other improvements, expenditures, or facilities that are related to any of the above projects; development or improvement of water supply facilities, including dams, transmission lines, well field developments, and other water supply alternatives any other land, buildings, equipment, facilities, expenditures, targeted infrastructure, and improvements found by the Board of Directors to promote new or expanded business development, and the maintenance and operating expenses for any of the above described projects. City Hall located at 200 Liveoak St., Coleman, Texas will be the polling place for the early and Election Day voting. Council will consider appointing Kermit Sorrells, Election Judge; Beverly Gee, Alternate Election Judge and Karen Langley, Early Voting Judge. Council may take any action deemed necessary.
- Council will consider authorizing the transfer of dedicated funds from TXPOOL Capital Improvements to General Fund Revenue #100-4600-05 allowing the PWD to begin work on Phase I of the Police Department facility at City Hall under #100-7174-07. Council may take any action deemed necessary.

- Notice is hereby given that the City of Coleman is requesting proposals for health insurance coverage for its employees. Proposals must be sent to Zesch and Pickett Insurance Administrators, P. O. Box 431, San Angelo, Texas 76902 or contact Bobby Zesch by phone at 1-800-259-7302. Proposals must be sent to Zesch and Pickett prior to March 19, 2010 to be considered. Proposals will be presented at 5:00 p.m. April 1, 2010 during regular Council meeting.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FROM THE CITY OF COLEMAN
- The City of Coleman is opening the Convenience Center located on North Highway 84 Friday 2-5-10 and Saturday 2-6-10 for bringing storm debris. There will be no gate charge or disposal charge for storm debris. Regular items you choose to take to the convenience center, other than storm debris, will be charged as usual. Hours of operation will be 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Allied Waste has placed two 30 yard containers for storm debris only at 301 N. Colorado Street, across from the Public Works
Office at 304 N. Colorado Street for use by the public.
If you have electrical problems and your meter loop has been pulled away from your house, you will need to call an electrician to repair meter loops before the City will be able to reinstate your electricity. Please call the City of Coleman Public Works 625-2621 with any questions. After 5:00 p.m. or on the weekend you may call the Police Department, 625-4114.

City of Coleman Policy for Connection of Utility Service
|
Effective January 4, the City of Coleman will require the customer to be present at the location where utility service is being connected and to sign the work order. The customer will be required to list a contact phone number also. In the event the customer is not present at the location or does not list a contact phone number, additional fees will be added to the account if additional trips are made to the same location. This same policy will apply to customers who are transferring their utility service within the City of Coleman from one location to another. The City will denote a time frame for the customer to expect the utility service to be connected.
