The General Election for 2026 was cancelled due to Unopposed Candidates. At the expiration of the candidate filing period, unopposed candidates are declared elected and take their seat after the election would normally have been canvassed. Office Holders will be sworn in at the regular City Council meeting held on May 7, 2026.

Polling Location

All voting will be conducted at the City Council Chambers located at 200 W. Liveoak, Coleman, Texas

Candidate Applications

The May 2, 2026, General Election will be held at the Coleman City Hall / City Council Chambers, located at 200 W. Liveoak. Filing for a place on the ballot is set by state statute and will run from January 14 to February 13, 2026. Filing packets may be picked up at City Hall. Contact the City Secretary at (325) 625-4116, for more information.

Place 1 - North Ward	Current Office Holder - Tracy Rankin
Place 4 - South Ward	Current Office Holder - Monte Sides

Important Dates

• January 1, 2026 - First day to apply for a ballot by mail.
• January 14, 2026 - First day to have your name placed on the ballot.
• February 13, 2026 - Last day to have your name placed on the ballot.
• February 17, 2026 - Last day to file a Declaration of Write-in Candidacy.
• April 2, 2026 - Last day to register to vote.
• April 20, 2026 - Last day to apply for a ballot by mail.
